Our History

HIPPIEFEST started when a few friends were sitting around making plans to get together for some camping fun before winter. The comment was made "We should have a campout weekend and get into our favorite clothes of the 60's and 70's. Bellbottoms, halter tops, miniskirts, tie dye and a few other things we won't mention, LOL. The weekend was planned for September 2010 and we had a great time. About 45 people showed up and enjoyed good food and the great company of friends. Sunday morning the comment was made "This has to be an annual event", and so it began. 2011 HIPPIEFEST was larger as more people heard about it and how much fun it was (look at the pictures for proof). About 85 people showed up September 2011. In 2013, over 100 people came out for even more fun. Hippiefest 2014 was as good as the rest, and so was Hippiefest 2015. It's getting bigger and better every year!

We start arriving and set up camp on Friday evening with a bonfire at night. Saturday we don "our threads" and get together for games and meeting new and old friends. Saturday evening is pot luck dinner with the pork included... just bring a covered dish to feed many and we continue mingling. Saturday night a live band plays. What more can anyone ask for in a weekend?

If you want to meet new friends and enjoy time with old friends and have a fantastic weekend, this is the place to be. People are still talking about the previous Hippiefests and by spreading the word makes the weekend that much better of an experience. You don't want to hear about another great weekend you missed, so plan on being there. We recommend you plan on camping, so you don't have to drive if you decide to have a drink. This is a weekend for a good time and drinking is allowed, BUT NO ONE WANTS TO BABYSIT, so drink responsibly. Fall and winter are right around the corner so this makes it an ideal time to reconnect with old friends and make new ones, we hope to see you there.
